Didn’t Move Lighthill

It’s been a very busy couple of days. Micah’s still having problems sleeping, so Cindy and I are in this downward spiral of no sleep. I hope we don’t bite each other’s heads off. Both of us can become nasty when we’re tired. Anyways, please pray for Micah that he’ll be able to sleep in his own bed at night.

I am so bummed. I had this opportunity to move our church to this new location, but I blew it months ago, and didn’t even know it. My friend Gary’s church, Milestone is closing their doors in the middle of November, which is a total bummer. They’re meeting in a sweet Irvine community center. I had the chance to move in there, but it’ll cost us way too much now. What happened was in April of this year I tried unsuccessfully to get into an Irvine community center. When I applied I gave them a church directory that only had 52% of the households in Irvine. The thing is you need to have at least 57% to get the good rate. They only accept one directory a year from an organization, so no matter what, I’m stuck. I can’t give them an updated directory that would help us out, although I’d have to fudge it a little to get to 57%, hehe. I’ve always had difficulties being a moral person. Good thing God loves me and saves me as I am. Anyways, so no go. Thanks Gary, for getting me as far as I could go. Unless my church can come up with a load of extra cash, it’s not gonna happen. On the other side of it, now I have to focus and realize that the church isn’t about where we meet, it’s about who’s gathering together. And that’s a major good thing. I just wish I could learn that lesson at the Heritage Community Center…oh well.

Big meeting with the Elders tonight. We’re going to meet and talk about bringing Cindy on as my co-pastor for a trial period. If anyone reading this could also pray for this, because Cindy’s struggling with being there for our kids versus giving up some of that time to serve in the church. That’s a tough one.
