Memories Brought Back to Life
May 14th, 2007Last Sunday, Cindy and I had the opportunity to do the teaching at the house church that we’re a part of. I haven’t led a Sunday Worship in a long time. I was really nervous, especially since the gathering was for ages 4 to 60 or so. How could I reach all those generations and cultures? This was the first time I led in a church setting that was non-Asian. Cindy and I pretty much reached back into our youth leader bag, but we also drew from our other church and work experiences, and we had fun getting the lesson done last minute on Saturday night. I actually had a bunch of fun during the whole process of teaching and organizing. Doing a Sunday teaching with kids and adults together was no where near as hard as I thought it would be. I think it was more fun and interactive because of it.
I went away knowing that there were things that I could’ve done better or differently, but that didn’t bother me at all. I filed those away for next time, and was really excited just to have had the opportunity. BTW, we taught on our identity in Christ focusing on 2 Timothy: “For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-control.
